Milk Education is recruiting Behaviour Support Workers to work within schools across Leeds from September 2026. This rewarding role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom. Whether your experience comes from education, youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, or support work, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
- Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or barriers to learning
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and reinforce school expectations
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs
- Support pupils both in and out of the classroom to maximise engagement and achievement
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, or similar settings
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A calm, resilient, and patient approach
- The ability to build positive relationships quickly
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
