We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Support Worker to join a secure children’s unit in Leeds, supporting young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and social needs. About the Role
As an SEMH Support Worker, you will work as part of a supportive residential care team providing high-quality care, structure, and emotional support to young people within a secure setting. Many of the young people have experienced trauma and require consistent, nurturing relationships alongside clear boundaries and guidance. You will play a key role in helping young people develop life skills, emotional regulation, and positive routines within a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting young people with daily routines, education engagement, and wellbeing
- Building positive, professional relationships based on trust and consistency
- Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Contributing to care plans and risk management strategies
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting safeguarding procedures
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals
Shift Pattern
This is a full-time permanent position working on a rota basis including early shifts and late shifts, with weekend working as required. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of residential care.
