What does a Business Studies Teacher do?

  • Plan and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons across KS4 and KS5
  • Teach Business Studies, Economics, or both depending on your specialism and experience
  • Develop students’ understanding of key business concepts, including finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, and business strategy
  • Use real-world examples and current business trends to bring lessons to life
  • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote positive learning attitudes
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support development
  • Encourage students to develop their analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Build positive relationships with students and inspire an interest in business and the wider world of work
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider Business Studies department and school community

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
  • A degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge across Business Studies and/or Economics
  • Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for inspiring and motivating young people
  • The ability to use real-world examples to engage students and make learning relevant
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
