Milk Education is working with several welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Stockton and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated KS1 & KS2 Teaching Assistants to join schools from September 2026.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and development, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and boost pupil progress.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist with monitoring, recording, and assessing pupils’ progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Support children with additional learning needs where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence, resilience, and confidence.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation to support high‑quality teaching and learning.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience working within a Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, or primary school setting.
  • Good understanding of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • A caring, patient, and supportive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
