Milk Education are working with a primary school in Knowsley who are seeking a full-time Year 1 Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child in Year 1 who has Autism. The role is starting immediately with the potential of this role being extended further. The School are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating to the child’s learning needs for this Year 1 Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday to Friday.
This Year 1 Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child’s needs are being met. In this Year 1 Teaching Assistant role you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.
Teaching Assistant - Role & Responsibilities- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
- Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
- Deliver catch-up sessions
- Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
- Must have a passion for education
- Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
- Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
