Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Merseyside to recruit an English Early Career Teacher (ECT) to start as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated newly qualified English teacher looking to begin their teaching career within a supportive secondary school environment.
Whether you are completing your teacher training or have recently gained QTS, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your teaching practice, gain valuable classroom experience, and inspire students across KS3 and KS4 through engaging English lessons.
The Role as an English ECT
- Deliver engaging and creative English lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop their reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Work closely with experienced teaching staff and school leadership teams who are committed to supporting your development throughout your ECT journey.
Key Responsibilities as an English ECT
- Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Support students in developing literacy, analytical, and communication skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress.
- Prepare students for assessments and GCSE examinations.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate as an English ECT
- Recently qualified teacher with QTS or currently completing teacher training in English.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English Language and Literature.
- Experience teaching within secondary school placements is desirable.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Confident, adaptable, and engaging teaching style.
- Passion for education and supporting young people.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
