Overview
Milk Education are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Junior ICT Technician to join our dedicated support team in September 2025. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for ICT and a strong desire to make a positive impact in an educational environment.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting the ICT infrastructure across the school, ensuring staff and students have the tools they need to thrive. You’ll work closely with the ICT Manager and SEN staff, helping maintain a safe, secure, and accessible digital environment for learners with varying needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day ICT support to staff and students.
- 1st Line ICT Support and Service Desk responsibility.
- Accurately record all actions and resolutions within the Helpdesk system to support knowledge sharing and incident tracking.
- Install and update software, ensuring accessibility features are enabled as needed.
- Respond promptly to helpdesk queries and provide first-line technical support.
- ICT Equipment and Asset Support.
- Support the Senior Technician with the building, configuration, and enrolment of devices using tools such as Microsoft Intune and Apple School Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and perform regular equipment checks.
- Travel between school sites (if applicable) – driving licence essential.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows 10/11) and common school applications.
- Awareness of Microsoft 365 tools and basic administrative tasks.
- Introductory understanding of mobile device management (MDM) systems such as Microsoft Intune and Apple School Manager, including how devices are enrolled and assigned.
- Basic understanding of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) concepts, including user accounts and access permissions.
- Awareness of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and safeguarding responsibilities when working in a school ICT environment.
- 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics.
- Experience of working as part of a team in an IT support environment.
- Awareness of ICT issues and trends.
- Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of children.
- Possess a sound working knowledge of Computers and Laptops in a corporate network environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current ICT developments and technologies.
- Effective and excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally.
As part of your role, there will be a requirement to work across all of the 3 school sites, Fazakerley, Croxteth and Speke.
