Milk Education is looking for passionate and resilient
Resilience Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside.
As a Resilience Mentor, you will work closely with children who may require additional emotional, behavioural, or learning support.
Your role will focus on helping pupils develop confidence, self-belief, emotional regulation, and the resilience needed to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
This rewarding position is ideal for individuals with experience in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, sports coaching, psychology, or support work who are committed to making a positive impact on young lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range
- Supporting children to develop resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies
- Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, and additional learning needs
- Helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve personal goals
- Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to support pupil progress
We Are Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people
- A patient, positive, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to inspire confidence and motivate others
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s wellbeing and development
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
