Milk Education is recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Positive Pathways Mentors to support pupils within Primary Schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside. As a Positive Pathways Mentor, you will help children overcome barriers to learning, build self-confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Working closely with teachers and school staff, you will provide tailored support to pupils who benefit from additional encouragement, guidance, and positive role modelling.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, childcare, care work, or support services who are passionate about making a lasting difference in children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range
  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement with learning
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with children and school staff
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Acting as a positive role model and helping pupils achieve their individual goals
We Are Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
