Support, encourage, and inspire young learners every day. Milk Education is recruiting compassionate and dedicated Nurture Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside. As a Nurture Mentor, you will provide vital support to children who may need additional guidance with their learning, confidence, emotional wellbeing, or social development. Working closely with teachers and school staff, you will help create a positive and nurturing environment where every child feels supported and empowered to succeed. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals with experience in education, childcare, youth work, mentoring, coaching, care, or support work who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range
  • Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence, and personal development
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning
  • Supporting children with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Helping pupils develop resilience, independence, and self-esteem
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to support pupil progress

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers and achieve success
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
