Passionate about working with children? Creative, energetic, and ready to make a real impact in the classroom? Milk Education are recruiting Creative Teaching Assistants to support a number of welcoming, inclusive, and high-achieving Primary Schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals with backgrounds in Teaching Assistance, Youth Work, Psychology, Sports Coaching, Drama, Dance, Music, Performing Arts, Support Work, Childcare, or Education. If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can inspire young learners, bring creativity into the classroom, and build valuable school-based experience— we want to hear from you.
These schools do things differently. They believe children learn best through creativity, exploration, and engagement—not simply sitting behind a desk. As a Creative Teaching Assistant, you’ll help bring lessons to life through interactive learning, play‑based activities, targeted interventions, and hands‑on classroom support. No two days are the same, and your personality, ideas, and energy will be genuinely valued.
Your role will include:
- Supporting children across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Delivering interventions in Phonics, English, Reading, Writing, and Maths
- Supporting children with additional learning needs
- Creating fun, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences
- Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and lesson delivery
- Helping build children’s confidence, independence, and social development
- Using creative approaches to keep pupils motivated and engaged
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience desirable but not essential)
- A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A genuine passion for education and child development
- Creative, adaptable, and confident working in fast‑paced environments
- Available for full‑time work across Sunderland or South Tyneside
What Milk Education offers you:
- Competitive daily rates of pay
- Flexible opportunities with day‑to‑day, long‑term, and permanent roles
- Exclusive partnerships with local schools
- Free CPD and training opportunities
- Dedicated consultant support 24/7
- Interview and trial day preparation
- Easy‑to‑use video technology to increase placement opportunities
- A supportive, people‑first recruitment experience
