This role is suited to individuals who are patient, caring and passionate about supporting children to feel safe, understood and included in their learning.

As a school SEND Support Worker, you will work with pupils who may be non‑verbal, have physical disabilities, or require high levels of personalised support – so a calm, non‑judgemental approach and strong communication skills are essential.

Both full‑time and part‑time positions are available, offering flexibility to suit your availability.

  • Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged from 4 – 19 years old with a range of PMLD.
  • Support with the delivery of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Encourage emotional wellbeing, communication and social development.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, other school staff and external professionals.
  • Support with personal care when required: Moving and Handling, Toileting, PEG Feeding, etc. (training provided).
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experienced support workers who are open to working with children would fit this role perfectly due to the complex needs of the children who attend this school.
  • Previous experience administering personal care is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • A patient, caring and non‑judgemental approach to supporting others.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt to individual needs.
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the updated service (or willingness to apply).

Allocated free parking spaces for staff are available in the car park local to the school.

Milk Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All applicants will be subject to stringent safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS, employment references and right‑to‑work verification.
