Milk Education are recruiting for a resilient and motivated HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) / Unqualified Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Havering. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young people who may face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, supporting them to re-engage with education and achieve success.
The PRU is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment, with values rooted in respect and equality. You will play a key role in delivering lessons in General Studies, Citizenship, PSHE, and Humanities, helping pupils to develop both academically and personally.
What You’ll Be Doing in the Role
Delivering engaging lessons in General Studies, Citizenship, PSHE, and Humanities
Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning
Managing classroom behaviour and creating a safe, positive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies
Essential Qualifications / Experience
Experience working with young people in an education, PRU, SEMH, or SEN setting
HLTA qualification or experience leading lessons / delivering interventions
Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
Resilience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
