Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Haringey to appoint a talented History Teacher for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate History Teacher to join a thriving Humanities department and inspire students to develop a curiosity and appreciation for the past.

The successful History Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to think critically, analyse evidence and develop strong written communication skills. The school is committed to academic excellence and provides a structured curriculum designed to foster historical enquiry, debate and independent thinking.

The Role:

  • Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Working as a History Teacher to inspire a love of learning and historical understanding
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress effectively
  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations and supporting strong outcomes
  • Contributing to the wider Humanities department and curriculum development
  • Encouraging critical thinking, source analysis and historical interpretation

The Ideal Candidate:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilitiesCommitment to achieving the best outcomes for students
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply

Essential Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Recent experience teaching History within UK secondary schools
