Milk Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Abbey Wood from September 2026 until February 2027 on a full-time maternity cover contract. This History Teacher role is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to inspiring students through the study of history and helping them develop critical thinking, analytical, and evaluative skills. Key Responsibilities- Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and discussion
- Developing students’ understanding of historical events, themes, and interpretations
- Assessing, monitoring, and recording student progress effectively
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Contributing to the wider Humanities department and school community
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching History at secondary level
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for History education
- Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
