Milk Education is recruiting for a purpose‑driven, ambitious History Teacher to join a Secondary School in Liverpool to work on a long‑term or short‑term basis starting in April or as soon as possible until the end of the school year. The school places high emphasis on staff wellbeing, helping colleagues to be happier and more effective in their work. Staff are regularly consulted about their wellbeing, and the outcomes of these consultations have a direct and rapid impact upon the approach to supporting staff wellbeing.

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:

  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students’ work
  • Be able to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies
  • Encourage curiosity, problem‑solving, and independent learning
  • Create a positive and structured learning environment

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice), ideally including experience in multi‑ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11‑16 school
