Milk Education is currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Hartlepool. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work alongside teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You may support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, helping children build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading whole-class, small-group, and intervention activities
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities
- Supporting pupils with their academic and personal development
- Providing targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs
- Supporting classroom routines and positive behaviour management
- Working closely with teachers and school leaders to improve pupil outcomes
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have:
- HLTA status or significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant
- Experience working within a primary school setting
- Confidence delivering lessons and activities independently
- Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s education
Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.
