Outreach Tutor – Site Based Milk Education Grantham, UK

A school in Grantham which looks after children with social emotional and mental health needs are looking for a tutor to join their outreach provision which is based on the school site.

The provision works closely with students who have school based anxiety, have been out of education for a period of time, or who cannot attend the main school classrooms for one reason or another.

The aim of the provision is to re-engage the children into learning and offer support for them, not just academically, but holistically.

The children who attend the outreach provision can display challenging behaviour and some may have an autism or ADHD diagnosis.

In your role as a tutor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering lessons for one or two pupils who are attending the provision.

The children that attend are aged 7-16.

The school provides you full access to the curriculum as well as providing short term and long term planning, which has been designed to support learners with additional needs.

Lessons at the provision, centre around improving literacy and numeracy skills, as well as enrichment and employability/life skills.

You may be required to teach the functional skills curriculum at entry level for Maths and English and/or deliver phonics lessons for some of the younger learners.

Although you do not need QTS for this role, experience of planning and delivering lessons previously is essential and we are ideally looking for individuals with a background of working with children or individuals with special needs and a minimum degree level qualification.

This is a permenant contract, subject to the sucessful completion of a 12 week probation through Milk education.

The working hours are 08:15- 4:15 Monday to Friday , with an hour early finish on the Friday.

Due to the nature of the children who attend this provision, it is important that we have consistency with staffing and so , we are unable to offer part time contracts at this time.

The pay rate for this role ranges from Β£200 per day up to Β£220 per day depending on experience.

The start date will be 7th September 2026.
