The Role
As a Secondary PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive Physical Education lessons, encouraging students to develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while creating a positive and supportive environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons where required
- Promote participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Manage classroom and behaviour expectations effectively
- Support extracurricular sports activities where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership teams
Who We’re Looking For
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting
- Are passionate about physical education and student wellbeing
- Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Can motivate and inspire students of all abilities
- Are flexible, reliable, and professional
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching PE at secondary level
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Ability to provide two recent professional references
