The Role

As a Secondary Health & Social Care Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that help students develop an understanding of health, wellbeing, human development, and the care sector. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while creating a positive and supportive environment where every student can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Health & Social Care lessons across Key Stage 4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging theoretical and vocational lessons
  • Support students in developing knowledge of health, social care, and childcare practices
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Prepare students for coursework, assessments, and examinations where required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership teams

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking teachers who:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Health & Social Care within a secondary school or college setting
  • Are passionate about preparing students for future education and careers
  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Can motivate and inspire students of all abilities
  • Are flexible, reliable, and professional

Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge of the Health & Social Care curriculum
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Ability to provide two recent professional references
  • Experience teaching at Secondary or FE level
