Secondary Art & Textiles Teacher

Milk Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic Secondary Art & Textiles Teacher to support local secondary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers who are committed to inspiring creativity, developing practical skills, and encouraging students to express themselves through art and design while gaining experience across a variety of school settings.
The Role
As a Secondary Art & Textiles Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across Art and Textiles, encouraging students to develop creativity, confidence, and technical skills. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while creating a positive and supportive environment where every student can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Art & Textiles lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
- Inspire creativity and encourage students to develop a range of artistic and textile techniques
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress
- Maintain a safe, organised, and inclusive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Support extracurricular art projects, exhibitions, or creative clubs where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership teams
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking teachers who:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching Art and/or Textiles within a secondary school setting
- Are passionate about creative education and student development
- Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Can motivate and inspire students of all abilities
- Are flexible, reliable, and professional
Requirements
- QTS or equivalent
- Experience teaching Art and/or Textiles at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across the secondary curriculum
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Ability to provide two recent professional references
