PPA Teacher – Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across a range of primary year groups
- Follow school planning to ensure continuity of learning
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Assess learning and provide feedback in line with school expectations
- Pupil Support & Wellbeing
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations throughout the school
- Build positive relationships with pupils to support both academic and personal development
- Ensure all pupils feel safe, valued, and encouraged to achieve their full potential
- Teamwork & Professional Practice
- Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and school leaders
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth handovers between classes
PPA Teacher – Essential Criteria
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent and relevant UK primary teaching experience
- Confidence teaching across a range of primary year groups
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A flexible, enthusiastic, and child-centred approach to teaching and learning
- Must live locally to Whickham or the surrounding area—no relocation
