Are you an aspiring Primary Teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience before starting teacher training or progressing into a teaching career? Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Gateshead to appoint an Aspiring Primary Teacher to join their dedicated team from September. This is an excellent opportunity to build your classroom confidence, develop your teaching skills, and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced educators within a supportive primary school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils achieve their learning goals
- Encourage positive behaviour and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils to support their academic, social, and emotional development
- Prepare classroom resources and assist with day-to-day classroom activities
- Work collaboratively with the wider school team while following safeguarding procedures and school policies
Essential Criteria
- A degree (or currently completing your final year of study) with aspirations of pursuing a career in Primary Teaching
- Experience working with children through schools, tutoring, coaching, volunteering, childcare, or similar settings is desirable
- A genuine passion for education and supporting children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Must live locally to Gateshead—no relocation
