Milk Education is seeking a confident, experienced, and proactive Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3) to work across welcoming primary schools in Ferryhill, Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with strong classroom experience, particularly within SEND settings, who is ready to take on a higher level of responsibility supporting teaching and learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can support whole-class learning, deliver targeted interventions, and provide tailored support to pupils, including those with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
- Deliver small group interventions to raise attainment in core subjects
- Provide 1:1 support where required, including pupils with SEND
- Assist in preparing, adapting, and delivering learning resources
- Support behaviour management and promote positive learning behaviours
- Lead phonics, reading, maths, and literacy interventions
- Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, in line with school strategies
- Contribute to pupil assessments and progress tracking
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
- Strong SEND experience is highly desirable
- Experience delivering interventions and supporting pupil progress
- Good understanding of the primary curriculum and classroom expectations
- Confident supporting behaviour management strategies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive, reliable, and able to take initiative in the classroom
- Passion for supporting children’s learning and development
