Milk Education is seeking a passionate, experienced, and ambitious EYFS Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Ferryhill from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years Teacher, current EYFS Lead, or an ambitious ECT with strong EYFS placement experience who is committed to delivering outstanding early years education and creating the very best start for children in their learning journey. The role is available on a full academic year basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will support or lead the Early Years provision, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, supporting colleagues, and driving positive outcomes for all pupils within EYFS.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support the EYFS provision across the school
- Deliver engaging, creative, and high-quality teaching in line with the EYFS Framework
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Early Years team
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals
- Contribute to school improvement priorities and curriculum development
- Promote children's wellbeing, development, and readiness for future learning
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs welcome to apply
- Recent experience teaching within EYFS (including strong placements for ECTs)
- Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and assessment requirements
- Leadership experience desirable but not essential
- Excellent classroom practice with a child-centred approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for Early Years education and improving outcomes for young learners
- Ability to inspire and support both pupils and colleagues
