What does an English Teacher do?
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach English Language, English Literature, or both depending on your specialism
- Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote positive learning attitudes
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support development
- Inspire students to develop their reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Build positive relationships with students and encourage a genuine interest in English
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider English department and school community

What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language and/or English Literature
- Experience teaching English at secondary level
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for inspiring and motivating young people
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- ECTs are welcome to apply!
