  • The Role

    The school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to support pupils with additional needs, ensuring they can access learning and make strong progress.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or within small groups
    • Helping to implement personalised learning plans and intervention programmes
    • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs
    • Encouraging independence, emotional regulation, and confidence
    • Using behaviour strategies aligned with the school’s values
    • Monitoring progress through observations and feedback to teachers / SENDCo
    • Assisting with classroom preparation and differentiated resources
    • Contributing to a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment

    Person Specification

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND (e.g. autism, speech and language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
    • Be patient, understanding, and emotionally resilient
    • Communicate clearly with pupils, staff, and parents
    • Have strong behaviour management strategies
    • Be organised, proactive, and enthusiastic
    • Enjoy working as part of a supportive, committed team
    • Hold an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one)
    • Ideally hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE), although experience is also valued
