Milk Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Enfield to recruit a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher, graduate or experienced education professional looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive and well-structured school environment.

The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged, focused and on task throughout the school day. This role is ideal for individuals considering a future career in teaching or those looking to build on their existing experience within education.

The Role:

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials
  • Working as a Cover Supervisor to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensuring students remain engaged and complete the work set by teaching staff
  • Providing support and guidance to pupils where appropriate
  • Reporting back to teachers on pupil progress, behaviour and lesson outcomes
  • Supporting the wider school community when required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or similar role is desirable
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence leading groups of students independently
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • Flexible, proactive and professional approach
  • A genuine interest in education and student development

The successful Cover Supervisor will join a school with high expectations of both staff and students, where positive behaviour, academic achievement and personal development are at the heart of the school community. Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Experience working with children, young people or within an educational setting
