Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a lasting difference in their educational journey? Do you want to work in a rewarding role where every day presents an opportunity to help pupils build confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential? We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to work within a welcoming and inclusive school. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and moderate to complex learning needs.
You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCO and wider support staff to provide tailored support that enables every pupil to thrive both academically and socially.
Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to provide two recent references.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation.
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction and independence.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and the wider school team.
- Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
