How to prepare for a job interview at Milk Education

Know Your EYFS Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Understand its principles and how they apply to nurturing young learners. This will show your potential employer that you're not just familiar with the role, but genuinely passionate about early years education.

Showcase Your Caring Nature

During the interview, share specific examples of how you've supported children in previous roles or experiences. Highlight your patience and nurturing qualities, as these are crucial for an EYFS Teaching Assistant. Think of anecdotes that demonstrate your ability to accommodate diverse needs, especially for children with SEND.

Prepare for Practical Scenarios

Expect to be asked about how you'd handle various classroom situations. Prepare for questions like how you would support a child struggling with focus or how you would engage a group of children in a learning activity. Practising these scenarios can help you articulate your approach clearly and confidently.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about the school's approach to supporting children with SEND or how they foster a collaborative environment among staff. This shows your interest in the role and helps you gauge if the school is the right fit for you.
