We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, ambitious and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher & SENCo to join our dedicated leadership team at our welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Darlington. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and developing our SEND and inclusion provision while contributing strategically to the wider leadership and continued improvement of the school.
The Role: As Assistant Headteacher & SENCo, you will:
- Lead and strategically develop SEND and inclusion across the school
- Ensure high-quality provision and support for students with additional needs
- Drive outstanding teaching and learning for all learners
- Work closely with staff, families, governors and external agencies
- Ensure statutory SEND responsibilities are fully met
- Contribute to whole-school leadership, improvement and culture
- Promote high expectations, achievement and wellbeing for every student
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with strong leadership skills
- Has experience of leading SEND provision within a secondary setting
- Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to undertake it)
- Is passionate about inclusion and removing barriers to learning
- Has excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Can inspire, motivate and support both staff and students
