Milk Education is recruiting for a Graduate SEND/SEMH Support Assistant for a small specialist school for pupils aged 11-18 years old in Cramlington, to work on a full-time, long-term basis.
This school’s focus is on its amazing young people and staff who are fully committed to going the extra mile for their pupils every single day. Their students all have EHCPs and their complex needs include Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language, Attachment and Trauma. They aim to develop their students to fulfil their full potential with a vision of always aiming high.
Your role & responsibilities:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis to ensure they are succeeding both academically and pastorally, responding to their individual needs
- Working alongside class teachers and other school staff, providing essential additional support
- Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students, improving the whole school learning journey
- Delivering catch-up and intervention sessions
Non-negotiables:
- Recent university degree of 2:2 classification or above
- Good Numeracy and Literacy skills
- Clear desire to work with children and young people
- Previous experience working with children and young people would be beneficial, but not essential
- Willingness to undertake relevant CPD training as required by Milk Education and your placement school
