- SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school in
Northumberland from September 2026.
You’ll provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence and feel confident within the classroom.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs
- Support children with their communication, social and emotional development
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience
- Support pupils both academically and pastorally throughout the school day
- We’re Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
- Experience within a school, nursery, care or support setting
- A patient, calm and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Resilience and the ability to remain positive in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
