Milk Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to support children with SEND in Reception.

About the Role

We’re looking for a patient, caring, and adaptable individual to help young learners settle into school life and make great progress. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to provide one-to-one and small-group support, prepare resources, and help create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children with SEND to access learning in Reception.
  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and daily routines.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.

Requirements

  • Recent experience working with children.
  • Understanding of SEND (experience with early years or 1:1 support is desirable).
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
