Milk Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and skilled Cover Supervisor to work in one of our partner Secondary Schools in Middlesbrough. You will need to be experienced, flexible, energetic and enthusiastic about working with children. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be vital in ensuring the seamless continuation of lessons when teaching staff are absent. You will work closely with students and support staff, maintaining a positive and structured learning environment while ensuring that the lesson plans set by the absent teachers are effectively followed.

Cover Supervisor responsibilities:- Classroom Supervision: Oversee students during lessons when their regular teacher is absent, ensuring they remain focused and complete assigned tasks.
- Discipline Management: Ensure students adhere to the school's behaviour policies and handle any disruptive actions in the classroom.
- Learning Support: Assist students with completing assigned tasks, providing guidance to ensure understanding without introducing new material.
- Tracking Engagement and Progress: Monitor students' participation in the lesson, confirm task completion, and address any challenges they may face.
- Feedback and Reporting: Communicate to the absent teacher about student behaviour, task completion, and any concerns or incidents that arise.
- Safeguarding and Student Welfare: Prioritise student safety and well-being by following safeguarding protocols and offering support when necessary.
- Classroom Organisation: Prepare and organise the classroom for the next session, ensuring it is neat and ready for use.
- Compliance with School Policies: Adhere to all applicable school policies, including those related to health and safety, attendance, and safeguarding.
- Classroom Oversight: Ensure students stay focused, behave appropriately, and follow school rules throughout the lesson.
- Task Completion: Make sure students finish the work assigned by the absent teacher, providing clarification on instructions as needed.
