Milk Education is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Consett, Durham, supporting pupils across the primary age range. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in education, develop their career or secure a rewarding long-term role in a school environment.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers and school staff to support pupils with their learning, confidence and development. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels supported and able to succeed.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with classroom learning and activities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, caring and positive approach
- Reliability, adaptability and enthusiasm
- A relevant Level 2/3 qualification is desirable but not essential where you have suitable experience
