Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education provider local to the school to work on a long-term, full-time basis starting immediately!

You’ll be joining a highly supportive, modern environment focused on changing young lives through holistic education, trauma-informed progress, and tailored support.

This setting caters to vulnerable young people aged 6 to 18 from diverse backgrounds who have encountered a range of adverse childhood experiences or complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is an exciting role for a resilient, empathetic educator to join a fantastic team dedicated to helping pupils re-engage with education, overcome barriers to learning, and reach their full potential!

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role

  • Supporting children with SEND, complex SEMH, and developmental diagnoses in small classroom settings
  • Working with teachers to implement individualised learning pathways and education plans (EHCPs)
  • Assisting with robust behaviour management, utilizing therapeutic and positive de‑escalation strategies
  • Promoting student well‑being, emotional regulation, and vital social and life skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Must have recent and relevant experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
  • Experience or a strong background in sports coaching, youth leadership, or community engagement is highly desirable
  • Must possess good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
  • Must have a calm, reflective, and relationship‑focused approach with the ability to work under the guidance of the class team
