We’recurrently recruiting for an Unqualified Teaching Assistantto join a Primary Schoolin Chester-le-Street on a long- or short-term basis starting in September.

Unqualified Teaching Assistant – Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
  • Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
  • Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong

Unqualified Teaching Assistant – Requirements or Skills

  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team
  • Passion for working with children
  • No relocation, lives locally to the Northeast
