Milk Education is working in partnership with schools across Leeds to recruit dedicated SEND Support Workers who genuinely want to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children to feel safe, understood, and included in their learning. As a School SEND Support Worker, you will work with pupils who may be non-verbal, have physical disabilities, or require high levels of personalised support. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, offering flexibility to suit your availability.
- Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 4–19 years with a range of PMLD
- Support the delivery of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Encourage emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, school staff, and external professionals
- Provide personal care where required, including Moving and Handling, Toileting, and PEG Feeding (full training provided)
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Experienced support workers who are open to working with children would be well suited to this role due to the complex needs of pupils attending the school. Previous experience administering personal care is advantageous. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs is essential. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) is required. Free allocated parking is available near the school.
