Milk Education is currently recruiting a confident, enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive Secondary School in Bolton for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, raising attainment and making a positive impact across the secondary curriculum.

We are looking for an experienced HLTA who holds HLTA status or an equivalent qualification, with the confidence to lead whole-class learning, deliver targeted interventions and work collaboratively with teaching staff to support student progress across a range of subjects. In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to support learning across the school, deliver planned lessons during teacher absence, provide targeted interventions, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Your Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Support teaching and learning across a range of curriculum subjects
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to individuals and small groups to improve attainment and confidence
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare and evaluate learning activities
  • Support students with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers where appropriate
  • Prepare learning resources and support the organisation of classroom activities
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and high expectations throughout the school day

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds HLTA status or an equivalent qualification (essential)
  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students in a school setting
  • Is confident leading whole-class learning and supporting students independently
  • Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Can motivate and inspire young people to achieve their best
  • Is proactive, adaptable and able to use their own initiative
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding, or is willing to complete relevant training
  • Is committed to supporting the academic, social and emotional development of students

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
