We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Social and Emotional Classroom Assistants to join our new team in Blyth. This role is essential in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for children 11-16 with SEMH needs. You will work closely with children to foster their social and emotional development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and understood.

The hours for this role are 8:30 – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.

What you need:
  • Experience working with children is preferred, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
  • Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Milk.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Be able to provide your two most recent references – either work-based or education.
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults in care, support, or residential.
Duties:
  • Provide support to children, focusing on their social and emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance communication skills among children.
  • Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to create inclusive classroom environments.
