We are looking for compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join specialist SEND school settings across Northumberland.

Working Hours: We are only recruiting for full-time roles at this time (8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday). We are working on a high number of September vacancies, with a significant proportion of these being full-time positions. For successful candidates who join us this term, there are also temp-to-perm opportunities available, offering a pathway into longer-term and permanent roles within our partner schools.
The Role: Working within a specialist school environment, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and SEMH
- Support teachers with delivering Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Create a nurturing environment that builds confidence and independence
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
Requirements: To be considered, you must have:
- Previous experience working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply immediately
- A patient, resilient approach and a strong commitment to inclusive education
You will be joining a supportive school community where your work can make a meaningful difference to pupils who benefit from therapeutic and educational support.
