Milk Education is working with a primary school in Billinge (WN5) who are seeking a full‑time KS1 Teaching Assistant to work 1‑2‑1 with a child in Year 1 who has Autism. This KS1 teaching assistant role starts in September 2026 and will be a temporary, long‑term role until February 2027. The school is looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating to the child’s learning needs. The hours of work are 08:30 am–15:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The role involves keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child’s needs are being met. You will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Teaching Assistant – Role & Responsibilities

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch‑up sessions

Teaching Assistant – Level (Non‑negotiables)

  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people within the past two years
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
