Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Barnsley. This exciting opportunity involves teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and help students develop their scientific knowledge, practical skills, and understanding of the world around them.

This is a full-time position, available for an immediate start or from September 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, critical thinking, and a passion for Science
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider school staff to support student achievement

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Specialism in Science, with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
