Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic P.E. Teacher to join a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Barnsley. This exciting opportunity involves teaching Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong enjoyment of sport and healthy living. This is a full-time position, available for an immediate start or from September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality P.E. lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages participation and achievement
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship skills
  • Support students in developing their physical abilities, knowledge of health and fitness, and understanding of a healthy lifestyle
  • Organise and contribute to extracurricular sports activities and school sporting events where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider school staff to support student achievement
  • Uphold the values and professional standards of Milk Education and our partner schools

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Specialism in Physical Education, with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
