Milk Education is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring educator to teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical understanding of design and manufacturing processes.

This full-time role is available for an immediate start or from September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Design & Technology lessons that inspire creativity and innovation

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student achievement

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs

  • Teach students practical and theoretical aspects of Design & Technology, including designing, making, evaluating, and technical knowledge

  • Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within workshop and classroom environments

  • Support enrichment opportunities, including STEM projects, design competitions, and extracurricular activities where appropriate

  • Collaborate with colleagues and wider school staff to enhance student outcomes

  • Maintain high professional standards and uphold the values of both the school and Milk Education

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education
