Milk Education is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring educator to teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical understanding of design and manufacturing processes.
This full-time role is available for an immediate start or from September 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective Design & Technology lessons that inspire creativity and innovation
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student achievement
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs
Teach students practical and theoretical aspects of Design & Technology, including designing, making, evaluating, and technical knowledge
Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within workshop and classroom environments
Support enrichment opportunities, including STEM projects, design competitions, and extracurricular activities where appropriate
Collaborate with colleagues and wider school staff to enhance student outcomes
Maintain high professional standards and uphold the values of both the school and Milk Education
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education
