Milk Education is working with a number of secondary schools across Barnsley to recruit confident, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour & Pastoral Support Assistants. You’ll play a vital role supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As a Behaviour & Pastoral Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting students with behaviour, attendance and engagement.
  • Building positive relationships with young people and acting as a trusted adult.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions.
  • Supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assisting teachers in creating a calm and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting the school’s values.
  • Helping students develop confidence, resilience and emotional regulation.
  • Supporting during breaktimes, transitions and throughout the school day where required.
