Milk Education are working with a primary school in Atherton (M46) who are seeking a temporary full-time Reception Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child who has Autism. This temporary role will start in September 2026 and run through December 2026. The hours of work are 08:30 am – 15:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
The school is looking for someone patient, nurturing, and accommodating to the child’s learning needs. Responsibilities include:
- Keeping the child on task
- Preparing resources
- Ensuring the child’s needs are met
- Providing a supportive learning environment
Teaching Assistant – Role & Responsibilities
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Support children consistently while responding to their individual needs
- Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
- Deliver catch-up sessions
Teaching Assistant Level – Non-negotiables
- Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people within the past two years
- Must have a passion for education
- Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
- Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
- Must be reliable and punctual
