Milk Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate ARP Teaching Assistant to join Grinling Gibbons Primary School from September on a temporary basis. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will work within the school’s Additional Resource Provision (ARP), supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and helping them to access learning in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils within the ARP on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
- Supporting pupils’ communication, social, emotional, and academic development
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to meet individual needs
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Helping to create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment
- Assisting with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within an ARP or specialist setting
- Be patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
- Have knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs (desirable)
- Hold relevant education, childcare, or SEND qualifications (desirable)
