Milk Education are working with a client who are currently recruiting for SEND Specialist tutors where you will support children on a 1:1 basis within various environments such as hospitals, homes, hubs and local libraries. For this role you will be a SEND specialist with experience within the education and/or care sector and MUST have a good understanding of the UK Curriculum. Ages of students which you will support will vary between 5 years - 25 years of age, and will have varying needs.

Support will depend on the child's needs, this could be:

  • Speech and language support
  • Creative, Sensory and Motor skills support
  • Maths and English support

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in various subjects
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop personalized lesson plans
  • Help students improve their academic performance and achieve their learning goals
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to enhance student understanding
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents/guardians to support student learning and address any concerns

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or currently pursuing a degree)
  • Previous experience tutoring or working in education, particularly with children
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the subject(s) being tutored
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Familiarity with special education practices is a plus
  • Must be available full time
  • Confident supporting children and young individuals with SEN
  • Able to plan and prepare resources
  • Kind, caring and positive role model
  • Adhere to health care plans
  • Reliable and consistent
